Hardy Duchess Reel 4"A contemporary Hardy Duchess fly reel, 4" diameter and currently set up for LHW. Near mint condition with just a few tiny marks on the frame edge it couldn't have been fished much. The reel currently has backing loaded on it. Medium arbor design with a gray finish. "Split Cage" design with line guards in either direction for easy changing. Wood handle. Designed to hold lines in the 9 10 11 class. The reel packs into a neoprene Hardy pouch.

The seat features a perfectly varnished walnut spacer that's flatted for the reel foot

The rod actions is medium for a #5 line

This rod came to be known as Young's 9 1/2 foot "Florida Special" model

The serial number is lettered on the butt just below the female and just above the males

Comes in the original green cordura pouch

It shows light varnish wear

Pillars and screws are stainless steel

indicating an oven temper
