EF Payne Bamboo Fly Rod 8' 2/2 #4/5A EF Payne bamboo fly rod, 8', 2 piece, 2 tip, and built for a #4 or #5 line. The rod weighs 4. 2 ounces on my scale. Medium action. The rod has been refinished with evidence of some light wear post refinish. A bit of cosmetic cracking at the ferrule wraps from casting. The varnish is excellent and the rod is straight. The use of narrow foot guides (not paddle foot) and large hoop tip tops is inconsistent with the age of the rod. The grip also appears
