These items are thrown and trimmed on the wheel, after which I cut a drainage hole. After a first firing in an electric kiln, I glazed them with coordinating evergreen and olive glazes to vitrify the surface

I used a technique known as sgraffito to embellish the pieces with carvings

I used a glossy translucent sky blue glaze on the interior for a smooth finish before its final glaze firing

the larger 8-inch bowl makes a wonderful fruit bowl

I hand-painted the glaze two-thirds of the way down the form to allow the the speckles within the clay to show

everlasting floral stems
