Gremi is located on the northern border of central Kakheti in the Alazani River Valley. Gremi is less then 12 miles from the Russian border. Tamuna's original planting included 35 different heirloom varieties, although her winery focuses on the main varieties of Saperavi, Kisi, Khikhvi ,Kakhuri Mtsvane, Kisi, and Rkatsiteli. Since
