1945 Sterling Silver Cigarette Box Art Deco Tabletop Cigarette Case England Turner & Simpson CompanyThis is a vintage 1945 sterling silver hallmarked tabletop cigarette box or case. It is engraved "RAR" on the lid. The box is lined with what appears to be balsa wood. It measures 5 7 8 inches in length by 3 3 8 inches in width, and stands on four sterling feet. The piece is heavy, weighing in at 14. 8 ounces. It is hallmarked "Made In England" on the bottom, and has the "T&S" Turner & Simpson Company; "Anchor" Birmingham Assay hallmark; "Lion" . 925

and the hinge is also in great working condition

and is about 1/2 inch in depth

and measures 2 1/4 inches in diameter

and each one holds over 1 cup of liquid

The piece measures approximately 3 inches in length by 2 1/4 inches in width

The mirror is a double sided metal mirror that is in great condition

The wristlet does have some wear near where it meets the purse frame

The only hallmark we could find is "Made In USA" on the back of the compact

with a fisherman in his boat and a pagoda

It has a beautiful faceted purple central stone on front with design of leaves and flowers surrounding it

The interior is in very good condition with light minor staining that can be viewed in our photos
